Works on the Centre for AgriBioscience, one of Australia’s premier bioscience facilities, are near to complete.

Built to accommodate up to 400 scientists, science students and business and science support staff. The facility provides state-of-the-art laboratory environments including a major PC3 laboratory, PC3 glass houses and over 70 controlled environment rooms (CERs), which enable researchers to adjust the temperature of rooms to test and study the effects on plants and insects.

This is the first 5-star as-built education facility in Australia and built as a public private partnership (PPP) for the Department of Primary Industries and LaTrobe University.

Systems installed by James L. Williams include:

• 2 glycol chillers • 5 CRAC units
• 1 absorption chiller • 177 FCU
• 3 HHW boilers (gas-fired) • 146 air handling units
• 3 steam generators (gas-fired) • 7 carbon filters
• 3 induce draft counter-flow cooling towers • 104 HEPA terminal filters
